Vale and Shandong Port Group signed a memorandum of deepening cooperation at the 4th China International Import Expo in Shanghai on November 6, 2021.

Over the years, Vale has been working closely with major ports in Shandong Province.
In July 2015, the 400,000-ton class Valemax, the world's largest bulk carrier chartered by Vale, completed its first berth in China at the Dongjiakou Port Area of Qingdao Port, Shandong Port;
In 2016, Vale started its iron ore blending business in the Dongjiakou port area of Qingdao Port, Shandong Port to produce Brazilian blended powder BRBF. This blending business has expanded to Qingdao Port, Yantai Port and Rizhao Port and other Shandong ports.
In August 2020, Shandong Port Yantai Port became the second port in Shandong Province and the fifth port in China capable of receiving and unloading Valemax.

Vale will continue to cooperate with Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port and Yantai Port under Shandong Port Group on iron ore unloading, mixing, storage, loading and transshipment. Vale and Shandong Port Group will also jointly seek Potential cooperation opportunities in new projects in order to provide Chinese steel companies with better services.

Vale has always upheld its commitment to the Chinese market. Shandong is a strong steel manufacturing province in China with many strong and technologically advanced steel companies. Vale attaches great importance to the partnership with Shandong Province.
