The iron and steel industry will promote 7 key tasks in 2022.

On January 10, the third meeting of the sixth general meeting of China Iron and Steel Association was held in Beijing. In 2021, steel production decreased by about 35 million tons year-on-year, and the benefits of the steel industry will reach the best level in history.

The meeting pointed out that in 2022, from the perspective of policy, the market business environment of the steel industry will continue to be optimized; from the perspective of market demand, the total steel demand is expected to be basically the same as that in 2021; from the perspective of industry operation, it is necessary to maintain the healthy development of the industry. 

The steel industry must adhere to the basic guiding ideology and make every effort to complete the seven key tasks. That is to say, we will make every effort to do a good job in the stable operation of the iron and steel industry, focus on improving the self-discipline ability and effect of the industry, vigorously promote the scientific and technological innovation of the industry, steadily promote the "dual carbon" work, consolidate and improve the results of reducing overcapacity, and actively organize and promote the "cornerstone plan" for resource guarantee, Carry out industry image enhancement projects.
