According to data from the General Administration of Customs on January 14, 2022,
China exported 5.026 million tons of steel, an increase of 665,000 tons from the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%; from January to December, China exported 66.895 million tons of steel, an increase of 24.6% year-on-year.
China imported 1.001 million tons of steel, a decrease of 423,000 tons from the previous month, a year-on-year decrease of 26.9%; from January to December, China imported 14.268 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 29.5%.
China imported 86.074 million tons of iron ore and concentrates, down 18.881 million tons from the previous month, down 11.0% year-on-year; from January to December, China imported 1,124.315 million tons of iron ore and its concentrates, down 3.9% year-on-year.
China imported 30.95 million tons of coal and lignite, a decrease of 4.102 million tons from the previous month, and a year-on-year decrease of 20.8%; from January to December, China imported 323.216 million tons of coal and lignite, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
